They are selling these t-shirts for EXTREMELY SPECIFIC PEOPLE at IFC Cinema in the West Village. Black Flag mixed with Hungarian art-film director Bela Tarr, who’s not like UNKNOWN, but is not exactly Michael fucking Bay. I kind of regret not buying this, but while I like Black Flag I kinda don’t ride with them hard enough to rep their logo. Bela Tarr’s philosphical/anti-dictatorship Werckmeister Harmonies is one of my favorite pieces of art ever, a huge influence on me. Anyway. EXTREMELY SPECIFIC POP CULTURAL T-SHIRT.

The Violence at Occupy Oakland on October 25
In this video, filmmaker Raleigh Latham works to reconstruct the timeline of October 25 in Oakland, which began when police dismantled the Occupy movement’s tent community in the early morning. The conflict culminated in the use of tear gas and rubber bullets to break up the protest in the evening, when Iraq veteran Scott Olsen was injured by a police projectile. The Oakland general strike of November 2 was in part a response to these events.
DJ Clent, “DJ Clent #1,” from “Bangs & Works, Vol. 2: The Best of Chicago Footwork,” 2011.
Most impressive compilation I’ve heard all year. Buy it here. I could have chosen any track on here. As a sucker for “I’m Still #1,” I went with this but this thing absolutely ethers the idea of genre. Feels like the mid-90s again, with dance music derivatives taking back the mindfuck reins from pop.
